Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips at The Glen Packages

At only 220 ½ miles, the Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips at Watkins Glen is one of the shortest races on the NASCAR circuit, so it’s a bit ironic that it might have the longest race name. This 90-lap race is also among the most unique NASCAR events as it is run at the historic Watkins Glen International in New York. The 3.4-mile Grand Prix road course features 11 turns, in stark contrast to the traditional oval that most NASCAR races are contested on. And while this race often draws some of the top drivers from Indy racing, it has been NASCAR star Tony Stewart who has dominated this event with five victories since ’02. Jeff Gordon, who also excels at road course races, has won three times at the Glen.

Even though the recent history of this race only goes back to 1986, NASCAR did come to the track periodically in the 1950s and 1960s. Back in 1957, stock cars made their first appearance with Buck Baker taking home the $1,000 first prize. That’s probably not enough to buy a tire on today’s cars, and luckily for the drivers the purse money has been increased significantly to the $250,000 range for the winner.

One of the other things that are different about Watkins Glen is that it only has a seating capacity of about 41,000. That means there is always a shortage of Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips at Watkins Glen tickets, but if you get one of our Heluva Good Sour Cream Dips at The Glen travel packages then you don’t need to worry about race tickets, hotel reservations or how to get to the track because that’s all included. If you want to see the other NASCAR road course race in California, Premiere Sports Travel has Toyota Savemart 350 tickets and Toyota Savemart 350 travel packages.
