Minnesota Vikings History
Though the Minnesota Vikings finished the 2007 NFL regular season at 8-8 and five games behind the Green Bay Packers in the NFC North, their glass seems to be more than half full. The Vikings near term future can be summed up in only two words: Adrian Peterson. The oft injured back cam out of Oklahoma with more than one question mark attached to his back. Could he avoid injury in the NFL? Could he duplicate his college dominance in the pro game? Would he make an immediate impact or would Minnesota have to wait for the payoff.
The NFL started getting answers in the very first game. In his debut against the Atlanta Falcons, Peterson notched his first 100-yard game. He would get seven more over the course of the season. He would also rack up 224 yards against the Chicago Bears in Game 5 and blow away an NFL record by running for 296 yards against the San Diego Chargers in Week 9. Suddenly the Vikings had punch. And though Peterson got a little banged up, he survived his first NFL season intact and went on to win Pro Bowl honors.
Now, with the running game in good hands, the Minnesota Vikings are primed for a run at the NFC North over the next few years. They’ll need a prime running game as Brett Favre and the Packers have also found new life and the Chicago Bears, though wounded, are still a team only one year removed from a Super Bowl. Want to treat your people to the excitement of the NFL’s newest Super Hero? You can with our Premiere Incentive Program, the best way to motivate and inspire your staff.
