The French Open at Roland Garros in Paris, France, is the only one of the four Grand Slam events played on a clay court, and that’s just part of what makes it such a popular event. The venue opened up in 1928 and of course has undergone a series of changes and renovations since then, but it still maintains much of its historical charm.
