Canadian Grand Prix

The Canadian Grand Prix is one of the premiere auto racing events in the world, drawing crowds from across the globe. Fans of Formula 1-IRL racing, NASCAR fans, and racing fans in general all turn their eyes to the north country for this event. Throughout its history the Canadian Grand Prix has been held at several locations, but since 1982 the race has found a home at the Circuit Gilles Villenueve. This track, located in Montreal, is host to not only the Canadian Grand Prix, but a NASCAR Busch Series Race and the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. As one of the most watched auto racing events in the world the Canadian Grand Prix is rivaled only by the Indy 500. . One of the more unusual aspects of the Canadian Grand prix is that it is run on a racing course but that course is open for public use during the offseason. The track itself is deceptive. Certain parts of the course, such as the Quebec Wall or Wall of Champions, have ended the race for many a driver.
