Lincoln Financial Field History

Opposing teams and their fans fear Lincoln Financial Field. ‘The Linc” is located in Philadelphia, the City of Brotherly Love. But you can forget that brotherly love stuff when you’re sitting in the stands. This crowd is so tough that booing their own team is considered kid stuff. The fans in Lincoln Financial Field have been known to batter opposing fans with snowballs and drinks. Then again, they’ve been known to batter their own players with snowballs and drinks. It doesn’t matter whether the Philadelphia Eagles are sporting Pro Bowl players and look Super Bowl bound. It doesn’t matter if the Eagles are in an NFL regular season game or the playoffs. They better win in “The Linc.”

All that aside, Lincoln Financial Field is one of the better stadiums in the NFL. Opened in 2003, it seats almost 70,000 and carries large numbers of wheelchair accessible seats and luxury boxes. It also has large video screens for replays and better than average food service. In other words you won’t go wanting for Philly cheesesteaks. With the Philadelphia Eagles being one of the top performing teams of the last decade, playing in a Super Bowl and four NFC Championships, you can bet you’ll end up in Lincoln Financial Field on a cold day when the wind (and the fans) are howling.
