Love the game of Golf? Are you glued to the television when The Masters or US Open is on? Then you’ve got to check out the Medinah Country Club — or rather you’ve got to check out any one of the three golf courses on the sprawling grounds of Medinah Country Club. This iconic club has been in operation since 1924 and has seen some of the masters of the games trod the grounds including Tiger Woods, Gary Player, and Hale Irwin. The original course was designed by Tom Bendelow and has been used for the US Open Golf Tournament on three different occasions, the latest coming in 1990. It’s also been the site of the PGA Championship both in 1999 and ‘06 and is scheduled to host the Ryder Cup in 2012.

Medinah has a history of bringing out the best. In 1999 Tiger Woods won his first tournament at the course. He followed it up with another win at Medinah in ‘06, finishing five strokes ahead of his nearest competitor. Other professionals have expressed their enjoyment of the beauty found at Medinah with its many oak trees and the toughness of the course.
