Orange Bowl Stadium has been a huge part of football history. For college football fans it has long been the home of the Miami Hurricanes, one of the most successful programs in the country. It was in the Orange Bowl that Miami embarked on a winning streak of 58 games. Opposing teams had to deal with raucous crowds and high noise levels created by the stadium design. Fans in the Miami area claim that the Orange Bowl played a major part in the Hurricanes success. Miami Dolphins fans wouldn’t argue with that either. Don Schula and the Dolphins experienced their greatest years playing in the Orange Bowl, something they’ve been unable to duplicate since moving to Dolphins Stadium.

College football fans will also remember the Orange Bowl as the site of the famous post-season college football game for which the venue was named. Now part of the BCS along with the Fiesta Bowl, Sugar Bowl, and Rose Bowl, the Fedex Orange Bowl is currently being played in Dolphins Stadium but major efforts are being made to return the game to its original site.
